Dr. Helen J. Boerman, OD, FAAO, Dipl. ABO is a board-certified optometric physician who specializes in dry eye disease, surgical management for both laser vision procedures and cataract surgery, ocular allergy, glaucoma, macular degeneration. She also has expertise in vision correction, including specialty contact lenses such as astigmatism and multifocal lenses, and myopia management. Dr. Boerman is a nationally renowned speaker on advanced dry eye, and our center has become a regional referral center over the past decade for many severe ocular surface disease patients.

After graduating from the State University of New York College of Optometry, Dr. Boerman completed residency training in Refractive Surgery Management through Indiana University, then served as Clinical Manager of a LASIK and cataract surgery center for 10 years before joining us at Brentwood Eye Care. She has spent 24 years practicing comprehensive eye care, ocular disease, and surgical management in Davidson and Williamson County.Photo of Dr Boerman in standing in the Optical dept

She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and is active both nationally with the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians (TAOP) and locally with the Middle Tennessee Optometric Physicians Society (MTOPS).

She enjoys travel and spending time with her husband of 20 years, Chris, their teenage daughters, Ivy and Emery, and their seven-year-old son, Wesley.
