Dr. Alexis C. Meyer grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and earned her bachelor’s degree in Physiology & Neuroscience from the University of California, Davis. She went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. During her training, Dr. Meyer was actively involved in leadership and professional development through the American Optometric Association and participated in OneSight vision clinics, providing eye care services to underserved communities across the United States.

Dr. Meyer joined Brentwood Eye Care in 2025 and is trained in primary care optometry. She emphasizes a patient-centered approach, combining evidence-based care with a strong focus on education and prevention. While Dr. Meyer’s clinical focus is dry eye disease and preventative eye care, she is committed to providing comprehensive, individualized care across all stages of vision and eye health. Her clinical experience includes comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings (including multifocal, astigmatism, and myopia management lenses), ocular disease management such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy, as well as surgical co-management for procedures including laser vision correction, cataract, and glaucoma surgeries.

Dr. Meyer is a member of the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians and the Middle Tennessee Optometric Physicians Society. She is passionate about patient education beyond the exam room and shares eye health and wellness insights through social media at @eyedrmeyer.

Outside of the office, Dr. Meyer enjoys traveling, discovering the best local dining spots, and staying active outdoors. She loves sharing experiences from her adventures and spending quality time with family and friends.
